a evolving city

Life, letting go, renewal care, attention.

These are what we can build.

Situationism. Meaning. Truth. Democracy for the least favored?

Poehmez October 001

Henrietta Lacks (under the El)

I saw her happy, brave, proud face
The young farmer in her good Sunday clothes. Dignity in her bearing.
Bearer of immortal cells, stolen by the overlords of a white science. It's dark and lonely there under the Oak Park El station tunnel.

Twisting strands of DNA, she is history now, a reclaimed narrative, story recognized and retold, like her immortal remains.
Hela Hela Hela Hela
You can't own her. Can't erase her.
She was here. She was more than her biological materials.

We remember. We remember.

A SalvagePunk Manifesto

"SalvagePunk Manifesto"

By Hechatonchires

We demand that materials classified as garbage by the corporatist settler class become property of the people, to do and survive on with as they are able to store, modify or enhance at will!

The old digital world is dead! We are a free tribe of human persons without any need for permanent homes, property or devices!

We freely reject the corporatist mandate to destroy our precious Earth when humans can live freely, peacefully and completely on the waste and excess corporatism produces!

Finally, we recognize no government, religion or self and enshrine the right to assemble and create at will for as long as we all shall live! May the Earth know our pilgrimage in time and finally know peace!

"Freedom is breath! Money is a lie! Work confines and exploits! For this day, and every day, lay down your slavery and follow us to the future!"

The Beginning

"Jennifer Walencek (at the old Polish Deli)"

"At the Polish deli"

They don't quite know what to make of her

at the old Polish deli?

At age thirteen, it was black, gloss nail polish?

and punk rock records by the Clash

At fourteen, steel toed boots and her first

boyfriend, the Jewish kid from Wilmette.

Mostly, she ignored them when they shook

their heads, smiled and wondered

"Ain't that Bill Walencek's youngest girl?"

"What happened? What happened?"

At fifteen, she stopped going to church

then she tried a few different ones.

Finally, sixteen, her first year at Brandeis

she came home speaking six different languages

She can't buy beer yet, but now she doesn't

mind running errands for her Papa anymore.
