"Passed On"
The gardener found her floating in the indoor pool
dressed in her ballroom gown at the house in Hinsdale, Illinois.
The cops ruled it suicide by overdose
empty pill bottles in the hallway
and a trail of brown rose petals
leading to what she called the "lanai."
Her cousin found her oncologist's email
on her laptop
sitting on the credenza, saying
the cancer had come back.
